Join us for Dinner at the Business of Art Center, 513 Manitou Avenue in Manitou Springs on Friday October 1st at 6:00 pm for an evening of Costa Rican Visual Art. Peak at the Arts: Global Artists Exchange Festival artist Roberto Lizano will show work from numerous Costa Rican artists working in all mediums and discuss the history of contemporary art in San Jose and throughout Central America.

Roberto Lizano has been producing some of Costa Rica’s most prolific art for the past 30 years and is the creator of Bocaraca, a Costa Rican art movement known for their extroverted and investigative style built on wide ranges of materials and bold use of color. Mr. Lizano will be in residence in Colorado Springs making artwork for the October 8-9, 2010 Festival performances in collaboration with the Colorado Springs Chorale, the Ormao Dance Company, Pikes Peak Community College and Quattro Mani from the Colorado College Department of Music.

As part of the Festival’s philosophy to implement a Global Artists Exchange, Colorado Springs artists are asked to bring an example of their work on CD from which a compilation CD will be made and shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design in San Jose, Costa Rica in 2011.
